Since our most recent edition of Focus back in week 29, we have simply seen the already extremely high Nordic electricity prices climb even further. The pressure on the hydro-balance remains very high, with the current level around -18 TWh and, while fuel and carbon prices are also continuing to soar, Nordic electricity prices have also experienced an uptrend. When the market closed on Monday, the Q4-21 and YR-22 contracts had climbed to EUR 59.50/MWh and EUR 38.50/MWh, which are the highest levels observed for both contracts since 2019.
